Who Qualifies for the Hearing Services Program?

The first two criteria for qualification to the Australian Hearing Services Program are that you must be an Australian citizen aged 21 or over. Assuming you meet these criteria, you must also be one of the following:

  • Pensioner Concession Card holder
  • Department of Veterans Affairs Gold Card holder
  • Department of Veterans Affairs White Card (specifying hearing loss) holder
  • Recipient of Sickness Allowance from Centrelink
  • Dependent of a person in one of the above categories
  • Member of the Australian Defence Force
  • Referred by the Disability Employment Services Program

If you don’t meet any of the above criteria, you may still be eligible under the Hearing Services Program’s Community Services Obligations (CSO) component.
